Fort Knox and Conant Orchards

It was a beautiful Saturday so we decided to head out for a nice drive and another new apple orchard.  We headed Northeast to the coast stopping in Belfast at Bell the Cat so Kate could get a coffee, we always stop here on our way through Belfast.  The drive thru was open, but the lobby was closed because of Covid and they didn't have much for baked goods so Kate just got a coffee.

Driving through Searsport they have two very large Flea Markets right on Route 1, being a huge fan of the flea market I stopped at one of them.  I didn't find much but I did buy a VHS because it was in an old Home Vision Video rental case that was in mint condition. The movie is called Guilty As Sin, came out in 1993 staring Rebecca DeMornay and Don Johnson.

We got to Fort Knox about 9:45 am and their wasn't many people there, however by the time we left it parking lot was pretty full.  This time of year the Fort is usually all decorated for Fright at the Fort the annual Haunted House attraction but because of Covid it wasn't happening this year.

They were also funneling people in one direction to avoid people having to pass each other in the narrow corridors.  Wesley loved the Fort and we bring a flashlight for the dark areas.

Leaving the Fort we grabbed Wesley some McDonald's for lunch and then we drove to Bangor.  First stop was at Bagel Central for some of their amazing bagels, Katie picked some up for her friend and cousin as well.

I needed to find a shirt for my State Police Yearbook photo and Kate wanted to stop at PetSmart to get Hammy some hay and grain.  We also went to the Bangor mall, I wanted to look at JC Penneys for a plain black jacket for work, I couldn't find one but Kate found herself one!

As Kate and I hadn't had lunch we stopped at Chick-Fil-A for some delicious food and to get Wesley a picture with the giant pumpkin.  It was nice enough still so we ate outside on the picnic tables.

Heading home we stopped in Etna at Conants Orchard to pick some apples, this is fourth weekend in a row that we picked apples.  The orchard was nice, they had a lot of trees, but most had been picked over except apples at the top of the tree that we couldn't reach.  I bought a hunk of cheese and we got some apple cider donuts, they were great!

Until Next Time!
